Upper-class high school in Damauli
After the students pass the national exam at the end of grade 8, Maya enrols them in schools in Damauli, the capital of the district, for the last two years of high school. It's important that students get a taste of alternative systems of education, and hone their social and professional skills in the world outside Maya.
The first batch of Mayans (currently in grade 10) recently resumed their education on campus at their high schools in Damauli, and we're very happy to announce that all students from the second batch (grade 9) have been admitted to Satyawati, the best scoring high school in the district.
Students showing leadership qualities is a common sight at Maya, but the lockdown has accelerated the road to responsibility. Krishna Rana and Rajan Shai (both grade 10) have built their character by taking on daily zoom classes with the 8th graders. Rajan-sir explored the world of science, whereas Krishna-sir dove into Nepali language. It's always exciting to see a new generation of educators stand up, and both the students and teachers are learning a lot.
