In Maya, we recently organized the Olympic Games. Students from grade three and above actively participated in these games, with each team having at least one student from every grade. In total, there were 8 teams, named after different countries, including Saudi Arabia, India, USA, France, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, and China.

To add a touch of uniqueness, each country had its own flags made from resources found in our school. The event commenced with a joyous opening ceremony, where everyone gathered around a bonfire to celebrate before the Olympic games kicked off. Throughout the Olympics, six exciting games were played. The first week featured Long Jump, Javelin Throw, and Parkour, while the second week showcased Football, Bowling, and Wrestling (thankfully, no injuries occurred). The students played one game per day, making the event span over two weeks.

To determine an overall winner, we introduced a point system. The team that secured the first position in a game earned 50 points, the second position received 30 points, and the third position was awarded 20 points. These points were then added to the team's collection, reflecting their overall performance.

At the conclusion of the Olympics, the team with the highest accumulated points would be proudly crowned as the winner. Representatives of the victorious country would be rewarded with medals and honors, celebrating their exceptional achievements.

Of course, organizing such a grand event came with its challenges. The hot weather made it difficult for the students to focus during the games, but their determination never wavered. Additionally, managing a large number of spectators posed some difficulties, especially during the participant announcements. Nevertheless, we overcame these hurdles and successfully executed the event.

Despite the exhaustion that came with the end of the Olympics, the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The games provided both physical and mental challenges, promoting teamwork and enhancing their English communication skills.

In the end, China emerged as the well-deserved winner, with France and Saudi Arabia securing the runner-up positions. While there are always winners and losers in any game, the joy and enthusiasm displayed by all the participants made the Olympics an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
