Earthquake resistant school building

With the tremendous growth that we have experienced from the start of Maya in 2011, and the devastating earthquake of 2015, it is time for a large and new earthquake-resistant school building.

The building should accommodate six classrooms, a computer lab, a library and urinals. When these classrooms are built, we can slowly say goodbye to our temporary bamboo classrooms and change our facilities towards the needs of the students. A sustainable, sturdy and new building also symbolises a stable base. Something we really appreciate, after almost ten years of Maya Universe Academy.

The building will provide a safe and clean place where approximately 250 pupils (aged 4 to 16 years old) will receive education. Besides the construction of the building, this project also includes new furniture and educational material. We want to build a sustainable building in which our students can use new items such as new computers and fresh books. We believe that new things last the longest and motivate our students the most. In addition, we believe that our students are just as entitled to new things as, for example, students elsewhere in the world.

Because we want to use the building as quickly as possible, we fundraise and build per floor. The first floor is already in use, and we will start construction on the second floor any moment no. Support us with a donation so that we can quickly start on the third floor. The Wilde Ganzen foundation increases every donation by 50%!
