The Science Lab

Maya teaches up to grade 8. In order to provide quality education, it is important to have the right educational material. A science lab with accompanying materials, such as microscopes and posters of human anatomy, was needed to keep the older students excited about science. Learning from books alone is not enough. That’s why more than 20 senior students are enjoying education in the science lab on a daily basis.

Senior students of Dutch high school Het Amsterdam Lyceum, together with the Wilde Ganzen foundation, raised over € 10,000 for the construction of the science lab. During their visit to Maya in 2017 they helped with the construction of the classroom. Moreover, they brought the first tubes, telescopes and other materials with them.
